(KFGO/KNFL) The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks split a doubleheader at Kane County on Saturday.
F-M scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 4-1 win in game one. Sam Dexter hit a one-out double, eventually scoring from second on a wild pitch. BJ Lopez walked and scored as Evan Alexander’s flyball was dropped by right fielder Jonah Davis. A Dillon Thomas singled scored Alexander.
Davis Feldman pitched six strong innings, allowing five hits and one earned run. Reid Birlingmair earned the save after a scoreless seventh.
In Game 2, Kane County broke open a tight game, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jimmy Kerrigan had a two-run double in the inning.
Manny Boscan slugged an RBI double in the fourth inning for the RedHawks lone run.
Jack Fox pitched five innings and earned the win for the Cougars. Fargo-Moorhead hosts Winnipeg in its home opener on Monday night. 6:30 start at Newman Outdoor Field.
