MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota continues to have some of the best drinking water in the U.S., according to an annual state report.
According to Sandeep Burman with the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota’s 964 community water systems had very few contamination problems in 2022.
Burman said sometimes nitrate contamination from fertilizers on farmland will make its way into public water systems, but the report shows 98 percent of Minnesotans have drinking water from a supply that meets all federal health standards.
