Red River SWAT to conduct training Thursday evening near Island Park

FARGO (KFGO) – Red River Valley SWAT will be conducting a closed training exercise today from 5-8:00 p.m. in the 500 block of 4th Street S. in Fargo – that’s the east side of Island Park, near Prairie St. John’s Mental Health Center.

Fargo Police say the public can expect to hear loud noises and yelling in the area and there will be several SWAT vehicles with emergency lights. SWAT team members will be carrying firearms and moving around the exterior of a building but no live rounds will be used during the training exercise.

Police say it is a closed training exercise and is not open to members of the media or the general public.
