HyLife rendering of Windom plant
WINDOM, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture wants to help a pork processing plant in Windom find a new buyer and continue production.
State ag officials hosted a meeting Tuesday to discuss the future of the HyLife Foods plant.
HyLife notified the state on April 11 that its plant would permanently close in June if a new buyer isn’t found. The closure could result in the layoffs of nearly 1,000 workers.
A HyLife representative told the mayor of Windom that the company is actively working to sell the facility and will continue operating for the immediate future.
