(KFGO/KNFL) More of the three-class high school basketball plan in North Dakota is starting to take shape. The North Dakota High School Activities Association approved Regional and State Tournament sites for the 2023-24 season and State Tournament sites for 2024-25.
The State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament will be held at the Jamestown Civic Center in both 2024 and 2025, while the Class A Girls Basketball Tournament will be in Minot in both of those years. Both tournament will be held on the same weekend, February 29, March 1, and March 2 in 2024 and from March 6-8, 2025.
The State Class AA Basketball Tournament will continue with the “Super AA” format similar to the current Class A, where the boys and girls basketball tournaments will be combined in the same weekend. It will be held in Bismarck March 7-9, 2024 and in Fargo March 13-15, 2025.
The State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament will be held in Minot in both 2024 and 2025, while the Class A Boys Basketball Tournament will be in Fargo in 2024 and Bismarck in 2025. Dates are March 14-16, 2024 and March 20-22, 2025.

Class A& B Girls Basketball Region Tournaments: February 19, 20, 22
Class A:
- Region 1 at NDSU (Finals February 23)
- Region 2 at Mayville State
- Region 3 at Minot State Dome
- Region 4 at Beulah
Class B:
- Region 1 at Jamestown Civic Center
- Region 2 at Devils Lake
- Region 3 at Killdeer
- Region 4 at Minot Auditorium
Class A & B State Qualifiers will be February 24 at Mayville State (East) and Minot Auditorium (West)
Class AA: East Region February 27, 29, March 1 and 2; West Region February 29, March 1 and 2
- East Region at Multiple Sites
- West Region at Bismarck
Class A& B Boys Basketball Region Tournaments: March 4, 5, 7
Class A:

In addition, it was decided at Monday’s meeting that the new Class A will play eight-minute quarters, use a shot clock, and include a mercy rule.
