STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – A fire in Stearns County that damaged part of an outbuilding Tuesday night was caused by boiling maple syrup.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call for a report of a building on fire shortly after 10:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office, Chain of Lakes Fire Department, and Cold Spring Police Department responded to the scene.
Emergency responders determined the fire started in the building where someone had been boiling maple syrup.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the fire was contained to the wall and ceiling of the outbuilding.
