ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – Minnesota state representative injured in a snowmobile crash earlier this month says he’s looking forward to his return to work at the capitol in St. Paul.
In a Facebook post, Republican Torrey Westrom said he broke three ribs in the crash on March 12 while riding on the machine on Lake Ida near Alexandria.
He was taken to the Alexandria hospital after the accident and said he received great care from staffers at the facility.
Westrom added that he’s continuing his recovery and has been working remotely to monitor things in St. Paul, where he said his colleagues have stepped forward to present his bills. Westrom is blind.
The driver was a teenage relative who had taken required snowmobile safety courses.
