(KFGO/KNFL) Eight players are finalists for North Dakota’s Miss Basketball award. The award is voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters.
The list of finalists includes three players from Class A and five players from Class B.
- Bergan Kinnebrew, Century: 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.2 steals per game. Co-WDA Senior Athlete of the Year. First Team All-State in 2022.
- Logan Nissley, Century: 21.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 4 steals per game. Co-WDA Senior Athlete of the Year. First Team All-State in 2021 and 2022. Gatorade Player of the Year.
- Hailey Quam, Shiloh Christian: 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2 assists per game. First Team All-State in 2022, Second Team All-State in 2021.
- Ellie Braaten, Westhope-Newburg: 21.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 6.9 steals per game. Region 6 Senior Athlete of the Year. First Team All-State in 2021 and 2022.
- Halle Crockett, Northern Cass: 32 points, 4 rebounds per game. Scored 52 pts in a game this season. Broke nine school records at Northern Cass. Region 1 Senior Athlete of the Year.
- Miriley Simon, West Fargo: 22.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.9 blocks per game. EDC Senior Athlete of the Year. First Team All-State in 2022.
- Decontee Smith, Central Cass: 19 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 3.5 steals per game. Second Team All-State in 2021. Named MVP of 2023 State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament.
- Brenna Stroklund, Kenmare-Bowbells: 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks per game. Region 8 Senior Athlete of the Year. Second Team All-State in 2022.
The winner will be announced on Saturday night after the Class A State Tournament.
