The fire was reported around 10 a.m. at a residence on North Wall Lake Drive. One person was able to get out with the help of a neighbor. Initial reports indicated there was a fire in a garage. The garage was engulfed and the fire had extended into the house as firefighters arrived on the scene.
Fire crews had the blaze knocked down within 20 minutes, however, a significant overhaul was needed inside the home to fully put out the fire.
The main level of the home had moderate to significant damage and the garage, along with the contents was destroyed. Damage is estimated at more than $100,000. The resident is being assisted by Red Cross.
