
FARGO (KFGO) โ Two suspects in the attempted robbery of Gundersonโs Jewelers in Fargo on wednesday have been arrested in Michigan.
According to Fargo Police, Dajuan Marcellus, 32, and Kordaryl Cross, 32, both of Detroit, Michigan were arrested Thursday by the Michigan State Police.
The men were stopped after Fargo Police issued an alert to the FBI and agencies in other states and jurisdictions.
โI want to compliment the quick response of our officers and the tenacious investigative work of the FPD Criminal Investigations Division,โ Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski said. โOur team worked collaboratively with federal partners and other law enforcement agencies to quickly identify the suspects involved in this brazen crime, leading to the arrest of these two individuals.โ
Fargoโs Criminal Investigations Division is working with the FBI to continue the investigation into other possible suspects.
Around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, several people approached Gundersonโs Jewelers at 5601 28th Avenue S. and at least one displayed a gun.
According to the Fargo Police Department, the security guard locked the doors and the suspects got back into their vehicle and fled southbound on Veterans Boulevard in a four-door dark sedan.
Several schools including Sheyenne High, Liberty Middle School, Trinity, Freedom and Independence elementary schools were locked down for a short time after the incident.
No other details are currently being released.
