Grand Forks, N.D. (UND Athletics)– The University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks (12-9,5-6 SL) end the 10-0 home winning streak with a 75-57 loss to the SDSU Jackrabbits (19-5,12-0 SL).
The Fighting Hawks could not overcome the third quarter once again, being outscored by the Jackrabbits 25-13 after only trailing by four at halftime.
Nakiyah Hurst led the team with 16 points.
Kacie Borowicz led with six rebounds and had 10 points.
Sammiyah Hoskin had 10 points and five rebounds.
The first quarter had three lead changed and five ties. Defensive pressure was the name of the game. The first twenty minutes UND kept SDSU in check, heading into the half NoDak was down by four.
However, the third quarter woes would come back to haunt UND. SDSU held UND to 13 points in the third, while adding 25 to their total. The fighting Hawks would try to overcome in the fourth but would not be able to the 22-point deficit.
North Dakota will continue Summit League play on Saturday, taking on USD at 1 p.m. The game will air on Midco Sports and will be carried on the Home of Economy Radio Network.
