FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women’s basketball team debuted at No. 19 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday night.
The Bison enter the poll at No. 19 and begin the week with a 6-0 overall record, which is the best start to a season since the 2004-05 season. Gonzaga (5-1) was in the top spot and earned 26 first-place votes, while South Dakota State (4-2) came in second and picked up four first-place votes. FGCU (6-1) rounded out the top three and garnered one first-place vote.
NDSU was one of three Summit League schools listed in the poll joining South Dakota State and South Dakota (4-3), who was positioned at No. 20.
The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
NDSU will be back in action at Eastern Michigan on Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. CT
