(KFGO/KNFL) Sixteen teams remain in North Dakota high school football, as the semifinals in all four classes will be held this weekend. Class 11AA and 11A will be held tonight.
In Class AA, #3 seed Shanley (8-2) travels to #2 seed Mandan (8-2). The teams met October 14 in Mandan, where the Braves took advantage of early Shanley turnovers to build a 21-0 lead and won 28-21 over the Deacons.
Bismarck Century makes its fifth trip to the Fargo area this season, as they face Fargo Davies. The Patriots (4-6) surprises top-seed Sheyenne 27-8 last Friday, while Davies (7-3) beat Legacy in Bismarck 35-7. Davies beat Century 35-20 on October 14 in Fargo.
In Class A, Fargo North and Fargo South meet in the postseason for the first time in over 20 years. North (6-4) held off Valley City 30-28 last week while South (7-3) took care of Dickinson 38-12. South overcame a 14-0 deficit and won 17-14 over the Spartans on September 23.

Defending 11A champion Jamestown (8-2) hosts Red River (8-2). Red River is in the state semifinals for the first time since 1991. Jamestown beat the Riders 28-12 in the season opener on August 26.
Class 11B and 9B semifinals are on Saturday. In Class 11B, Central Cass (8-2) heads west to Beulah (9-2) The Squirrels pulled off a last-minute upset of Kindred last Saturday, 14-10. Beulah has defeated the Squirrels six times in a row going back to 2012. You can listen to that game on 740 The FAN tomorrow from Beulah with a 2 PM kickoff.
Hillsboro-Central Valley (10-1) travels to Velva-Drake-Anamoose (11-0) Saturday. The Burros are seeking their fifth Dakota Bowl appearance in the last seasons, while the Aggies are trying to get back to the Dakota Bowl for the first time since 2010.
In 9B, Cavalier travels to LaMoure to face LLM in a rematch of last season’s championship. The Loboes have won 22 straight games, and 32 of its last 33 over the past three seasons. The Tornadoes have been equally impressive, going 45-3 the past four seasons.
The other semifinal has North Prairie (10-0) at New Salem-Almont (10-0). North Prairie seeks a Dakota Bowl appearance for the first time since 2015, while the Holsteins are trying to return to the Fargodome for third time since 2016.
