WILLISTON, N.D. (KFGO) – The Williston Fire Department continues to work on getting residents back home after the discovery of a large amount of explosives in an apartment complex last week.
The Fire Marshal and Williston’s Building Safety Department have cleared the adjacent apartments for residents to return after a 3rd party remediation company certified them as safe. They said they are still working on one more.
Ross Petrie, 28, was charged with a felony called ‘release of destructive forces’ after police said they found nearly 1,500 pounds of explosive materials in his apartment and garage.
