Chief State Information Officer Shawn Riley
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – The head of North Dakota state government’s information technology department has resigned.
Shawn Riley is going to work for a cryptocurrency mining company that is working to develop a former anti-missile site in northeastern North Dakota into a data mining center.
Riley’s resignation is effective in early December. He’ll become the CEO of Bitzero International’s American operations. Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary is a primary investor in Bitzero.
Deputy Chief Information Officer Greg Hoffman will serve as Interim Chief Information Officer until a replacement for Riley is named.
Riley is the 7th person to leave Burgum’s cabinet in the past several months.
