WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four North Dakota companies will receive over $47 million as part of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s ReConnect Loan and Grant Program.
Over $500 million dollars in loans and grants being awarded to rural residents, schools and businesses in 20 states. The funds will be used to invest in infrastructure for reliable, affordable and high-speed internet.
USDA secretary Tom Vilsack says the money includes funding from President Biden’s infrastructure law.
“The reality is, this shows and indicates the commitment of the Biden-Harris administration to ensure every American – regardless of how, or where they live, or how remote their home may be – is going to have the opportunity to have this important tool,” Vilsack says.
Consolidated Enterprises, BEK Communications, and Halstad Telephone Company will receive grants. Griggs County Telephone Company will receive a loan.
