WATFORD CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – A man sought in a shooting at a Watford City hotel Saturday night has been arrested.
After following up on numerous leads, police say 30-year-old Andre Deshawn Morris, of Enid, Oklahoma was arrested at 3 a.m. Monday at an apartment complex not far from where the shooting happened. A tip from the public led officers to the gun used in the shooting earlier in the evening.
Morris was asked to leave the Saturday night party in the parking lot of the hotel after trying to steal some alcohol. He left and returned with a handgun and fired six rounds toward those at the party. One person was wounded twice in the leg and taken to a local hospital.
Morris, who has a felony record, has been charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharge of a firearm within city limits.
