The big question is, What was he going to do with them? Many of us weren’t surprised when we found out that Donald Trump illegally took classified, top-secret documents from the White House to his hotel in Florida. It didn’t surprise many of us that in the end, the Justice Department had to take physical action to get them back. It did surprise me though to learn about the attacks the Republican Party has taken against law enforcement. For a party that claims to be about “law and order,” they sure didn’t hesitate to put the lives of FBI agents at risk.
So what was he going to do with them? To pretend that he was entitled to or that others have done the same is nothing but a lie. The people spinning that information are nothing short of liars, and they know that 35% of America will believe anything Trump says, regardless if it’s true or not. And I’ll add that the 35% tend to start sentences with “what about,” which tends to be followed by “Hillary Clinton.” That same Clinton that sat in front of a Congressional Committee answering every question they had for 11 hours and not once pleading the 5th.
So I want to ask again, What was he going to do with them? It certainly wasn’t to defend our country and make us stronger. I can’t think of anything that would put America more in jeopardy than keeping over 300 top-secret documents in a hotel in Florida. I think it’s fair to point out how easily they could have been stolen. I also think it’s fair to point out that some may have already been stolen.
The one answer to my question that I fear the most is the thought of him monetizing them. That he’d use that information to do what he likes to do best, which is making a profit. He certainly knows that some countries would kill for those documents, and worse yet, kill with that information.
I won’t ask you my question again, because someday we’ll probably know the answer. People of integrity that believe in true and honest government might just tell us. And like always , 35% won’t believe them.
I just hope that when it comes to that 35%, the leaders of today won’t give a damn.
They’ve earned it.
