This week, I had a magical conversation with Unglued’s founder and owner, Ashley Morken. If you’ve never been to this creative shop, Unglued is a modern handmade gift shop featuring over 200 local and regional makers. It’s a whimsical store, basically a real life Etsy shop that also organizes awesome events to inspire creativity! 
Some of their events include an epic adult sleep away summer camp, kids’ downtown camps, private and public parties, craft retreats and the event that started it all, their annual ‘modern’ craft fest.
It all started back in March 2011 with the first-ever Unglued: Craft Fest being a wild success bringing in with crafters selling out of products, free workshops getting fully attended, live music, and over 2,500 shoppers coming through. Following a 2nd Craft Fest in February 2012, Ashley started to look for a permanent home for Unglued as a brick and mortar shop. The doors to this opened in August 2012 downtown Fargo with about 100 makers and a creative workshop schedule. They’ve grown so much and are celebrating 10 years this month with a move to a new space coming Fall 2022!
It’s stories like this that are inspire us to want more from life and to go after it! From working as a nurse to crafting up a creative career, my conversation with Ashley Morken will leave you inspired to take a risk, to look for ways to solve a problem and encourage you to embrace and explore your own creative side. Ashley comes armed with DIY tips for entrepreneurs to make magic happen!
