MINNEAPOLIS – The two-year budget plan proposed by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey is $3.3 billion and would pay for 731 police officers next year and 835 in 2024.
There’s also funding for public housing, opioid addiction treatment, and combating climate change. The city property tax levy would increase about 13% over 24 months. The mayor and city council are beginning budget negotiations.
