Few things in life remain constant. Most change with time and so do the memories. Usually not as good as when you were a kid right? My childhood home in Williston is much smaller than I remember. That hill by the pool? It’s more like a speed bump than a hill.
Years ago at the ND Winter Show in Valley City the first food truck I think I ever tried was in the back barns. It was a small red trailer from a small town near Minot. Glenburn.
It was “Tubby’s” I worked in the back barns and the Tubby wagon was conveniently located right by our shop. I tried my first Tubby burger and as a young man had no idea how good it was.
It still is today.
Last weekend I was working the North Dakota State Fair and yes. The Tubby Burger is still there. And unlike most things in life they are just as good as they were. Even better. The trailer and the menu. Like everything else the prices have gone up, but the value remains. The Tubby Burger and Show Special with fries and a soda? $17.50. Worth every penny. The best!
