Attorney General Keith Ellison (D-MN)
ST. PAUL – Minnesota A-G Keith Ellison is part of a coalition of 16 attorneys general challenging Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law.
Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act outlaws classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identification in kindergarten through third grade. Ellison says it’s his job to stand up for people who are harmed by discrimination — and that what harms “Florida kids, parents, and teachers harms every one of us.”
Ellison and the other attorneys general filed an amicus brief in support of the plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against the Florida State Board of Education.
It alleges non-inclusive educational environments have severe negative health impacts on L-G-B-T-Q-plus students.
