My guests today have a passion for building community. It’s the immersive experiences they’ve developed that are bringing people together in our community, to thrive.
Joe and Simone Burgum from Folkways are on a mission…to make Fargo the best place on earth to live!
Join our conversation to learn about who Folkways is and their commitment to building spaces in the community for culture to flourish. You’ll discover the how and why behind what they’re built and continue to build, as well as some of the challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve overcome them. After all, Folkways is in the business of solving problems (like workforce retention, economic vitality, and communal belonging), and creating immersive experiences is their way of not only solving these problems but improving the quality of life for the whole community.
Folkways: THE TRADITIONAL BEHAVIOR OR WAY OF LIFE OF A PARTICULAR COMMUNITY OR GROUP OF PEOPLE
You’ll learn some great advice when it comes to making a difference and an impact in the community. What it takes to make it happen and insight they share on how they’ve made this happen over the past 8 years.
What they’ve created makes any ‘Fargoan’ proud to call this city home, while making visitors or new residents feel especially welcome. They’ve created a farmers’ market, a German-inspired Christmas market, a waffle shop, a sauna on wheels, a Night Bizarre, and much more. Through these creative communal experiences, they hope to make Fargo the best place on earth to live!
