FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks downed the Lake Country Dockhounds 6-1 Sunday afternoon.
The Dockhounds got on the board on an Aaron Takacs RBI single scoring Gabriel Moriega in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The RedHawks tied it up at 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning when Peter Maris scored on a throwing error.
Drew Ward gave the ‘Hawks a 3-1 lead with 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Fargo-Moorhead put up a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 4-1 lead.
The RedHawks got their bats going again in the bottom of the eighth inning starting with Nick Novak driving in Rymer Liriano to make it 5-1. Evan Alexander stole third base setting up to score on a Sam Dexter sacrifice fly lifting the RedHawks to a 6-1 lead.
The Dockhounds scratched across a run in the top of the ninth inning but the rally came up short as they fall 6-2.
The RedHawks begin a series with Cleburne Tuesday night, Jack Michaels will have the call, pregame at 6:40 p.m. first pitch 7:02 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
