
FORADA, Minn. (KFGO) – A suspected tornado tore through the small west-central Minnesota town of Forada on Monday, leaving a trail of damaged homes and downed trees. No was serioiusly hurt.
The town’s fire chief estimated at least 75 structures were destroyed or severely damaged.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s office said that at one point, downed power lines and trees blocked all roads leading into the town.
The National Weather Service believes a tornado did much of the damage. It will send an assessment team from the Twin Cities office of the weather service to make a final determination.
There were a number of other tornado touchdowns and storm damage elsewhere in parts of Minnesota, including a confirmed tornado near Appleton, in the western part of the state.
