Sioux City, Iowa –
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks matched up against the Sioux City Explorers Sunday in the final game of a three game series. The RedHawks entered the game on an eight game winning streak, and were in search of their third straight series sweep. On the other side, the Explorers entered Sunday afternoon on a 7 game loosing streak. Those streaks would both be extended to 9 and 8 respectively as the final score went in the books 5-4 in favor of the RedHawks.
Scoring came early with a 2 run home run from Manny Boscan in the fist inning. The RedHawks and the Explorers then traded scoring until they locked up even at 4-4 in the bottom of the 4th. They would remain tied until the 8th inning when the RedHawks broke it open with a bases loaded Manny Boscan Sac Fly caught right at the wall. Sam Dexter would hit a bases clearing double that added some insurance runs and make it 7-4. After giving back a few to the Explorers in the bottom of the 8th, Alex DuBord would shut things down in the 8th and then the 9th out of the bullpen and secure the save, his league leading 7th, as well as a win for Fargo-Moorhead with a final score of 7-6.
