RANSOM COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – The driver and four passengers in an SUV were seriously injured when the vehicle crashed into a culvert washout on a rural road six miles southwest of Lisbon.
The State Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday on a section of the washed-out road caused by erosion from recent heavy rains. When the SUV hit the washout, the front of the vehicle struck the opposite embankment.
The driver, 43-year-old Wesley Alinder, of Lisbon, and the four teenagers were not wearing seatbelts.
Sanford Airmed transported three of them to a hospital using two helicopters and an airplane.
