Let’s use 100 as the example number for this conversation. If a woman has sex with 100 random men in a year, she can only have one full-term pregnancy. If a man has sex with 100 random women, he could be responsible for 100 full-term pregnancies.
So why are we only talking about regulating women?
That thought was sent to me by one of my listeners. The minute I read it, I found my head nodding in agreement. Just the thought of the conversation on abortion turning to men made me smile. Men have been completely left out of any conversation regarding Roe v Wade. The states have placed the punishment on the mother or healthcare provider. Never once making sure the man bears the same responsibility.
That shouldn’t surprise any of us though. Men have always gotten a pass when it comes to getting a woman pregnant. Other than the money for child support, they have no responsibility at all. And in many cases, child support isn’t paid for at all. That would require going to court and finding out just how poor the father can make himself look.
When the draft of the Supreme Court ruling was made public, there was no question where the blame would lie. It would be put onto the woman of course. She is the reason for all of the trouble, because she is the one that allowed herself to get pregnant.
If you don’t believe me, just ask yourself this: When you read that a woman slept with 100 random men, what did you think about her? When you read that a man slept with 100 random women, what did you think about him?
Enough said.
Good riding with you,
Joel
