SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Max Loven has been named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season and third time in his career, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Loven helped guide NDSU to an 8-3 win over South Dakota State last Friday. The left-handed pitcher tossed seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings with one walk and one run. It marked his seventh game this season with four or more strikeouts. The Brooklyn Park, Minn., native registered a 1.29 ERA and limited the Jackrabbits to a .200 batting average.
Loven is the third different NDSU pitcher to earn the accolade this season. Evan Sankey was named Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28, while Tristen Roehrich picked up the honor on March 21.
NDSU will be back in action against Mayville State on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.
