MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Three men are facing a number of charges after two traffic stops and a drug bust on I-94 near Moorhead.
Investigators say they had information that the three had been bringing drugs from the Twin Cities to Fargo-Moorhead. Two traffic stops were attempted on the interstate, but both drivers tried to get away from Clay County deputies. Both cars were eventually stopped.
During searches, nearly 1,100 fentanyl pills were found along with methamphetamine. the street value of the drugs is nearly $40,000.
It was the third significant drug seizure in Clay County in the past several weeks. Fentanyl, meth and marijuana were discovered in the earlier cases and four people were arrested and charged.
Those arrested in the latest bust are Larry McClendon, 57, Raphael Murphy, 36, and Cameon Desjarlais, 32. None of them have permanent addresses.
Agencies that took part in the investigation include Moorhead Police, The Clay County Sheriff’s Dept., The Minnesota State Patrol, Cass County Drug Task Force, and the Fargo field office of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
