COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – While the 2021-22 season only recently completed its final chapter, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) has begun to turn the page to next season, unveiling the 2022-23 conference schedule on Wednesday. All eight NCHC teams will once again play a 24-game conference slate.
The regular season features 96 NCHC games in all, while the conference calendar concludes with the NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Saint Paul, Minn. The pursuit of the Penrose Cup gets underway on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 and wraps up the weekend of March 3-4, 2023. NCHC Quarterfinal series are set for the following weekend, March 10-12, while the 2023 Frozen Faceoff will take place March 17-18 at Xcel Energy Center.
While the official start date of the 2022-23 college hockey season is Saturday, Oct. 1, North Dakota won’t begin the conference portion of its schedule until the opening weekend of November at Baxter Arena against Omaha on Nov. 4-5.

The first half of the season ends with back-to-back road trips at St. Cloud State (Dec. 2-3) and Western Michigan (Dec. 9-10), and it’s the Broncos who return to Grand Forks to open the back-half of the season on Jan. 13-14.
Minnesota Duluth appears on the schedule for the only time this season at Ralph Engelstad Arena on Jan. 20-21 before UND closes out the month in Oxford, Ohio to play Miami on Jan. 27-28.
Following an open weekend to begin February, the Fighting Hawks kick-off the stretch run of the season at Denver on Feb. 10-11 and at home against St. Cloud State the following weekend (Feb. 17-18).
UND heads right back to the Rocky Mountain State to take on Colorado College for the only time during the regular season to end February before Omaha comes to Grand Forks to close the regular season on March 3-4.
The top four seeds in the NCHC Tournament will then host the bottom four seeds in best-of-three quarterfinal series Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12. The four quarterfinal series winners advance to the 2023 NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Saint Paul, Minn. Both semifinals at Xcel Energy Center will take place on Friday, March 17, with the Championship on Saturday, March 18.
All dates listed for the 2022-23 NCHC schedule are subject to change. All home games, both non-conference and NCHC contests, will start at 7:07 on Friday night and 6:07 on Saturday unless otherwise noted. North Dakota will release its non-conference slate at a later date.
