SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State men’s golfer Brock Winter has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Golfer of the Week, league officials announced Thursday afternoon.
Winter, who has won the award twice in three weeks, led the way for the Bison at The Stampede at the Creek, as he won the tournament by three shots and led the Bison to three program records, including a 31 shot victory.
The Stillwater, Minn., native carded a tournament best round of 65 (-7) in the second round on Monday, leading NDSU to tie a program best single round of -14. Winter then shot a -2 round of 70 on Tuesday to take over the lead and win by three shots. His 65 and 70 were the best rounds by the entire field in rounds two and three, respectively.
Winter led the tournament field with 14 birdies and capitalized on the par 5s, posting a scoring average of 4.42 (-7). Winter also finished with 34 pars and had just five bogeys and one double bogey for the entire tournament.
Winter won the award on March 31 after his performance at the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He becomes the third Bison to win the award multiple times in the same season, joining Van Holmgren (2019) and Andrew Israelson (2017).
