Troy Seibel
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Attorney General Drew Wrigley has decided to replace Deputy Attorney General Troy Seibel.
Wrigley said he expects to name a replacement for Seibel in a month or so. He called the personnel decision “customary.”
Seibel had been the deputy for six years. He says he understands and respects Wrigley’s decision to name his own deputy, considered the second-in-command of the office. Seibel says he plans to take some time off and will explore all options.
Wrigley was appointed attorney general by Gov. Burgum following the unexpected January death of Wayne Stenehjem, the state’s longest-serving attorney general.
Wrigley will ask for Republican support to run for the office at this weekend’s state GOP convention in Bismarck.
