GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics)– North Dakota is set to make its 34th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday evening as the No. 2 seed against third-seeded Notre Dame from MVP Arena in Albany, N.Y.
Tim Hennessy’s call can be heard on the Mighty 790 and 104.7 FM KFGO.
Thursday marks the 38th all-time meeting between the two programs, with the series even at 17-17-3.
The last time these two met was Nov. 23-24, 2012 in South Bend. UND claimed the series opener by a 2-1 score before the Irish responded with a 5-2 victory to earn a split.
The programs have never met in the NCAA Tournament, but have played four times during the postseason, each grabbing a sweep at home in the 1973 (Notre Dame) and 1980 (UND) WCHA playoffs.
