SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (NDSU Athletics)– The North Dakota State men’s basketball team led from start-to-finish in a 92-72 blowout of No. 3 seed Oral Roberts in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament on Monday night.
NDSU improved to 23-9 this season, sweeping all three meetings with Oral Roberts.
The Bison will play in their fourth consecutive Summit League Tournament championship game, winning the title in 2019 and 2020, before falling in 2021. NDSU has now advanced to 8 of the last 10 Summit League championship games, dating back to March 2013.
NDSU’s Sam Griesel matched his career-high with 26 points, flirting with a triple-double as he racked up nine rebounds and eight assists. Grant Nelson finished with 20 points and eight boards for the Bison.
The Bison bolted out to a 33-14 advantage just over 10 minutes into the game and never trailed. Griesel scored 21 points in the first half.
It was a 13-point margin with 14 minutes remaining before NDSU scored 10 straight to go up 72-49.
NDSU shot 60 percent for the game and limited Oral Roberts to just under 36-percent shooting. The Bison out-rebounded the Golden Eagles, 45-35, and amassed seven blocks in the contest.
NDSU led 90-60 with 3:30 remaining.
The No. 2 seed Bison will take on top seed South Dakota State at 8 p.m. Tuesday night on ESPN2.
