PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – Students at Prior Lake High School walked out of class Wednesday afternoon following the discovery of a new racist message.
The message was found in a girls’ restroom. Last week, the girls’ basketball team decided to forfeit the rest of its games because one of its players found a note in her gym bag reading, “Get off our team, monkey.”
School officials say they are working with an outside firm to investigate the racist messages.
Although Wednesday’s student walkout wasn’t a school-sanctioned event, additional police were called in to make sure of a “safe environment” for those students.
