FARGO (KFGO) – As we close out the month of February, many are looking ahead to spring. A prediction from the Farmers’ Almanac has winter trying to hold on a little longer.
The Almanac’s Sandi Duncan says don’t expect a big warm-up in the month of March:
“Spring officially arrives on the calendar March 20th but it looks like it’s gonna take a little time for it to warm up. However, overall it doesn’t look too extreme. We’re seeing pretty average temperatures and normal precipitation in your neck of the woods,” said Duncan.
Duncan says to keep those boots and snow shovels handy. There is the possibility of an end-of-April blizzard.
“Just when everyone thinks winter is long gone, Mother Nature might throw everyone a curveball,” Duncan says.
The Farmers’ Almanac is predicting that once spring-like temperatures do settle in, we are expected to see slightly warmer-than-normal temperatures here in the midwest.
