Ryan Nitschke, Luna Fargo
FARGO (KFGO) – Two Fargo chefs have been named semifinalists for James Beard Awards, the most prestigious honor in the culinary industry.
Austin Covert of downtown Fargo’s Rosewild was one of 19 chefs short-listed for Outstanding Chef, the top overall honor given to chefs by the Foundation.
Ryan Nitschke, the executive chef and co-owner of the south Fargo eatery Luna Fargo, was one of 20 chefs who made the short list for Best Chef in the Midwest.
The winners of each category will be announced at a ceremony in Chicago in June.
