BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Bismarck Police responded to two separate child deaths over the weekend. The incidents led to the arrest of 4 people.
The first was on Friday at around 9:20 p.m. when officers found a 5-year-old child unconscious and not breathing with numerous injuries throughout his body. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. An investigation found that the child’s caretakers, 40-year-old Rolanda Doyle, 36-year-old Russell James, and 18-year-old Serenity Foots severely neglected the child and were arrested for Child Neglect and Abuse.
A second unrelated incident happened on February 19th at around 6:30 am. Officers found a deceased 3-week-old. An investigation led to the arrest of the child’s mother, 26-year-old Cassandra Black Elk.
