Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Michelle Fischbach says she will run for re-election to a second term in Minnesota’s 7th District.
The Republican was first elected in 2020 defeating longtime Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson.
Fischbach previously served as Lieutenant Governor and was the first woman to serve as President of the Minnesota Senate.
The 7th congressional district covers the majority of western Minnesota except for a few southern counties and is the state’s largest district. Cities in the district include Moorhead, its largest city, Fergus Falls, Alexandria, and Willmar.
There are 3 candidates seeking the Democratic endorsement; Mark J. Lindquist, Reed Olson, and Ernest Oppegaard-Peltier. Travis Olson is the only candidate running for the Libertarian primary.
