Whiteout conditions in Minnesota, between Barnsville and Rothsay (MN State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow)
FARGO (KFGO) – A Blizzard warning is in effect until noon today and we are already seeing its effects around the F-M Metro area.
Some Fargo streets have been closed due to low visibility. Due to strong winds and severely reduced visibility, 19th Ave. N. is closed between 18th St. and Dakota Dr. Drivers are encouraged to utilize 12th Ave. N. for east/west travel as an alternative route until 19th Ave. N. is reopened. Travelers going to Hector International Airport should take 18th St. south to Dakota Dr. and follow Dakota Dr. northbound to access the Airport.
Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner says there isn’t a lot of snow covering the roads but visibility is near zero with whiteout conditions. He advises staying home if you can this morning.
Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says there have been multiple cars in the ditch in the West Central area. Grabow says he’s been doing this job a long time and it’s one of the worst days in recent memory.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a No Travel Advisory for Cass, Grand Forks, Griggs, Nelson, Pembina, Steele, Traill, and Walsh counties.
