RICHFIELD, Minn. – The teenager seriously wounded during a deadly shooting last week outside his Richfield school has been identified.
Elijah Tellez is the 17-year-old who was hit by gunfire on February first during a dispute among several students outside South Education Center. Tellez was shot in the chest and taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police this week said his condition has been upgraded to serious.
15-year-old sophomore Jahmari Rice was killed and a 19-year-old student whose identity remains undisclosed also was hurt during the incident, but not by gunfire.
