Demonstration blocks the Emerson Port of Entry near North Dakota-Canada border

EMERSON, Manitoba (KFGO) – A demonstration involving a large number of vehicles and farm equipment is blocking the Emerson Port of Entry in Manitoba.

No traffic is getting through either Northbound or Southbound and the port is closed. A propane tank hauler trying to get into Canada from the U.S. tells KFGO news that was turned back at the Pembina, North Dakota Port of Entry.

The barricade is an extension of other blockades on the U.S. – Canadian border. Canadians have been protesting the country’s COVID-19 restrictions.
