
Litchfield-Marion Elementary will close once the new K-12 school is built in Marion.
LITCHVILLE, N.D. – Voters in the rural North Dakota school district of Litchville-Marion have approved a bond referendum on a $13-million project to build a new school.
Superintendent Tom Nitschke said 62 percent of the voters passed the bond issue with a total of 426 ballots cast in the February 8th election. Enrollment has increased in the district every year for the last five and is projected to continue increasing in the next two.
135 students currently attend school in the district, which is located 35 miles southwest of Valley City.
Nitschke said the new K-12 school will be built in Marion and the elementary school which is currently located in Litchville will be closed in the future.
