GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Altru plans to breathe some new life into its shuttered hospital project in Grand Forks soon. In a statement on Thursday the health care system says work on the steel structure is ready to resume.
The basement is currently being heated in preparation for slab and steel placement during the winter months.
Altru paused construction during the COVID pandemic with 18% of the structure completed.
The new hospital design includes seven floors, space for 226 licensed patient beds, and a 16-bed observation unit. It is slated to open in 2024.
