81-year-old widow Myrtle Cole , who lived alone in her home in Fairhaven. She was found by her nephew on the morning of December 12, 1981, after she failed to answer the phone that morning. Forced entry into her home was observed where Myrtle Cole was found brutally attacked in her bedroom.
FAIRHAVEN, Minn. – A billboard in Central Minnesota is aimed at generating new leads in a 40-year-old cold case murder.
Tri-County Crime Stoppers paid for the billboard near Highway 55 and 15 in Stearns County asking for information on the murder of Myrtle Cole in Fairhaven on December 12th, 1981.
The billboard reads, “Who Killed Myrtle Cole? Someone Knows.” It also advertises a reward of up to one thousand dollars for information.
