The Thunder improved to 1-1 on the season as they took down the Grovers 44-33 Thursday night. The Thunder led 38-18 late in the third quarter and looked like they would cruise, but Oak Grove reeled off nine straight points to cut the lead to 11. However, H/N relied on clutch shooting and free throws down the stretch to close out the Grovers.
Kennison Azure had a terrific all-around game for Hatton/Northwood with 16 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks.
McKenna McAlonie paced Oak Grove with 10 points and six rebounds.
The Thunder will play Hillsboro/Central Valley (1-3) at home Tuesday at 7:30 P.M as they look to build on tonight’s victory.
The Grovers fall to 1-2 on the young season. The Grovers will play Tuesday night versus Richland (1-2) at home at 7:30 P.M. as they look to bounce back.
