Fatal crash on I-29 in Fargo (Nov. 29, 2021)
FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – The State Patrol says the use of the wrong size ball on a trailer hitch contributed to a fatal crash on I-29 in Fargo last week.
The receiver hitch on the pickup had a smaller hitch than the hitch on the trailer. The trailer came loose and the driver stopped in a lane of traffic on the interstate. 72-year-old Clinton Juaire and 73-year-old Louise Juaire both got out of the pickup and were between the truck and the trailer when an SUV ran into the back of the trailer.
Louise Juaire died at the scene. Clinton Juaire was hospitalized with serious injuries.
