ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota National Guard’s 113th Airlift Wing welcomed 13 airmen home Wednesday morning from a deployment to Kuwait.
Officials say they are returning about 60 days earlier than scheduled. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Brian Winter says their professionalism left a lasting mark on our counterparts, and their accomplishments can be celebrated with their families during the holidays.” The Minnesota airmen provided base security in Kuwait and assisted with closure operations following the U-S withdrawal from Afghanistan.
A handful of the Guard members haven’t told their families so it will be a surprise for some happy loved ones.
