ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – Medical cannabis patients in Minnesota will be allowed to use edibles next summer.
The Minnesota Department of Health announced Wednesday that it will approve THC gummies and chews as a new medical cannabis delivery method on August 1, 2022. The rulemaking process will be launched this month. The state’s medical cannabis program is now limited to pills, oils, liquids and lozenges.
State Health Commissioner Jan Malcom says expanding delivery methods will mean more options for patients who cannot tolerate current available forms of medical cannabis. Patients will be eligible for cannabis buds and flowers next March.
